Enjoy these incredible holiday lights in Connecticut this Christmas

Get in the holiday spirit by getting out and experiencing some of the brilliant holiday lights festivals and displays around in Connecticut. Gather your family and friends for a magical and memorable outing. We have identified some of the best holiday lights in the state. Please provide your comments if you think of anything additional.

1. Ivoryton Illuminations:

Find out when Santa arrives at the Ivoryton Playhouse on Saturday December 2 and 400,000 lights light up this pretty village as part of the month-long Ivoryton Illuminations celebration. Come for family activities and entertainment for all ages, and enjoy the lights throughout December.

Ride Along with Santa at Thomaston:

The fun-filled experience is aboard the Northern Lights Limited – Train Rides with Santa, at the Railroad Museum of New England in Thomaston. An evening holiday train ride with Santa features a Festival of Lights both inside and outside the train and at historic 1881 Thomaston Station. During this hour-and-20-minute ride, children of all ages can enjoy a journey to Santa’s Train Workshop where Santa will board and merrily greet everyone.

2. Holiday Light Fantasia at Hartford

The holiday season is here once again and with it comes fun family traditions. Holiday Light Fantasia is a Connecticut favorite. The two mile show transforms Hartford’s Goodwin Park into a drive-through wonderland of holiday magic with over a million twinkling lights, set to a soundtrack that’s sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

3. Holiday Lights at Lake Compounce Theme Park
Festive activities include a spectacular light show every half hour at the main gate, featuring tens of thousands of dancing lights set to holiday music. Kiddieland rides and family-themed rides, the train is transformed into the North Pole Railway and operated by a very special train conductor with a magical holiday story to tell. There will strolling carolers, ice carving, and festive entertainment including clowns and lots of holiday characters.

Fantasy of Lights-Lighthouse Point Park New Haven

Celebrate the holiday season at the Fantasy of Lights at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. Drive through a magical land of spectacular, sparkling light displays. The Fantasy of Lights has become a yearly tradition for so many families from all over the state who come back each year.

4. Festival of Silver Lights Meriden

Come see the Festival of Silver Lights a spectacular illuminating display of more than 350,000 twinkling white lights of over 200 lighted characters throughout the park. There is no cost to drive through the park and enjoy the many displays of not just holiday lights but beautiful light displays shaped in the forms of animals nestled in the park’s natural environment of trees and on the ponds.
