She has built a loyal following at its original location on Franklin Avenue in Hartford’s South End.
The whole day breakfast concept has been coined by them and has been working amazingly for them. The social media page of the place to be West Hartford grew, as more customers learned about it and flocked there for its fun and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

How it all transpired at The Place To Be Connecticut:
Over the past four years, Luari has built a loyal following at Place 2 Be’s original place on Franklin Avenue in Hartford’s South End. Breakfast and brunch became popular, with egg dishes, pancakes, fried chicken, and waffles accompanied by bottomless mimosas and bellinis. The eatery’s social media presence grew as more customers discovered it and flocked there for its enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing ambiance.
She was soon looking to expand. In 2019, a potential deal at the former Sarah’s Coffee House space on Asylum Street fell through, but she knew she wanted to be in downtown Hartford because that’s where many of The Place 2 Be’s UberEats delivery orders were coming from. She approached management about opening a location at the Spectra Boutique apartment building after learning that the Spectra Wired café and lounge had closed in February.

Luari opened The Place to Be West Hartford Restaurant on Oct. 7 in a soft opening, inviting residents of the Spectra apartments, after months of planning, kitchen renovations, and interior remodeling. The word quickly spread on social media, and just a few days later, the eatery had a two-hour wait for weekend tables.
What you can expect at The Place To Be Connecticut?
That’s exactly what The Place 2 Be West Hartford sells. Breakfast favorites include eggs, challah French toast, waffles, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, bacon, sausage, steak and eggs, omelets, eggs benedict, fresh fruit, muffins, oatmeal, home fries, hash, breakfast burritos, and breakfast quesadillas, which are available daily from 7 a.m. to close. Lunch is also available, with options such as chicken, wings, nachos, salads, burgers, melts, paninis, wraps, gyros, and fries. Cocktails are added to the mix daily at 11 a.m. until close, including the signature “bottomless” mimosas, bellinis, and sangria, as well as nips to add to nonalcoholic beverages such as shakes. The “bottomless” theme extends to the décor and the drinks.

Butt drawings adorn the walls of the unisex restroom. Butt-shaped mugs line the bar’s walls and can be filled and delivered to tables. Luari is looking for artists to create butt artwork to be displayed in all locations. “Brunch is a fun meal.” “We’re not going to take it seriously,” she explained. The butts had taken on a life of their own.

The large-format “Drink my Bathwater” ($25), a mix of sangria, rosé, and prosecco served in a bathtub-shaped receptacle, is the most Instagrammed cocktail. It arrives on a tray adorned with rainbow sprinkles, cotton candy puffs, syrup and dessert sauce drizzles, and tiny rubber ducks suspended in the tub.
