The lights are seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres. Known as ‘Aurora borealis’ in the north and ‘Aurora australis’ in the south they are the most incredible views in the world.

To witness the northern lights we have to go much north to Connecticut, but very rarely that can be witnessed from Connecticut. We may get a rare opportunity to witness the northern lights from Connecticut tonight.

The best way to catch the lights will be to find an area with the least amount of light pollution so that you get the best view. According to NOAA, effects from the geomagnetic storm have the possibility of appearing over the next two-three nights with the strongest night being Thursday.

So if the weather remains good and there is very low cloud in your area, you may be lucky tonight to get a view of the Northern lights.
