Meriden Daffodil Festival 2022: Block your calendar for the 30th of April!!!

The Meriden, Connecticut Daffodil festival, held each year during the last week of April. This is celebrated each year with “food, flowers, fireworks, and fun.” Every year, 300 volunteers help to put on the Meriden Daffodil Festival, and 3,000 people march in the “Daffodils on Parade,” which includes area citizens and schoolchildren. Among the 650,000 blooming daffodils in Hubbard Park, visitors can enjoy an arts and crafts sale, the crowning of Little Miss Daffodil, a festival with a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, giant slide, pony rides, miniature train, and “Meriden’s Silver Fork,” the food shelter that houses 50 food outlets all from community non-profit organizations, each selling at least one unique food item, and “Meriden’s Silver Fork”.

Saturday night is capped off by a spectacular fireworks display, which is said to be among the best in New England. Every year, over 100,000 people attend the event.

Saturday, April 30th, 2022 –

8:00 am – Shuttle bus service begins

10:00 am – Gates open, Food tent opens, Arts & crafts opens, Children’s rides open, Business Expo opens

11:45 am – Musical entertainment begins

11:30 am – Parade begins

8:00 pm – Shuttle bus service ends and Gates close

Events During the Festival:

“CRAFTS BY THE LAKE” JURIED CRAFT FAIR

April 30th, 2022: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022, thousands of carnivals in North America showcase and sell the work of artists, artisans, and craftspeople. The annual Meriden Daffodil Festival is home to “New England’s Most Gorgeous Craft Fair!” with over 600,001 daffodils in bloom. The Meriden Daffodil Festival, as a juried craft fair, selects its exhibitors based on their quality and specialness.



LITTLE MISS DAFFODIL

All girls in kindergarten through fifth grade are eligible to be “Little Miss Daffodil.” One young lady is chosen at random from each of Meriden’s eight elementary public schools. The eight finalists will compete for the title of “Little Miss Daffodil” and the selection of her “Honor Escort” on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in Hubbard Park. The Mayor of Meriden, or a delegate, will draw a lot to choose the “Little Miss” and her “Honor Escort” from the eight finalists. For their efforts, all contestants receive a variety of prizes.

DAFFODILS ON PARADE

Daffodils on Parade will take place rain or shine. Every year, thousands of people take part in the parade, including local citizens, schoolchildren, school bands, and a wide range of local groups riding in hometown-built floats that promote their organization and the parade’s theme.

Entertainment During the Meriden Daffodil Festival 2022:

The annual Meriden Daffodil Festival 2022 is built around excellent entertainment! Join them for an action-packed weekend lineup that includes: Three stages with live music by some of Connecticut’s best bands – all for free! The Theater of the Trees offers acts and interactive entertainment for kids of all ages. The Action Zone features exotic animal shows as well as stunt shows for the whole family. A Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, giant slide, miniature train, and other thrill rides are among the carnival rides!
