Fire house in 1931 and an amazing Japanese Restaurant Today. It’s worth a try





From 1931 to 1980s, this was the headquarter of the Vigilant Hose Company and fire fighters protecting the community. After almost 30 years and more this is offering mouth watering japanese food and Sushi. If you are a japanese food lover and like Sushi then this is going to be place worth dining. The restaurant has small plate dining meant to be shared, in a lively and charming atmosphere.

Chef Brian Lewis

Brian Lewis is one of Connecticut’s most celebrated chefs, lauded for his commitment to quality and seasonally driven American cuisine featured at his restaurant, The Cottage, as well as his love for Japanese cuisine at his newest venture, OKO.

Charlie Gilhuly

Charlie Gilhuly serves as the General Manager of OKO and The Cottage in Westport, Connecticut, overseeing operations and hospitality.

Christian Wilki

Christian Wilki serves as the Chef de Cuisine at OKO. Born and raised in Denmark, Wilki served as Head Chef at Brasseriet Kiltgaard, developing the menus, which featured traditional Danish dishes, and overseeing the day-to-day operations in the kitchen. After moving to the United States in 2010, he was Head Chef at Chocopologie, and later spent time at the award-winning Community Table in Washington, Connecticut and Roia Restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut.

Ralph León

Ralph León is the Bar Manager at OKO and The Cottage in Westport, Connecticut, overseeing the beverage program at both establishments. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, León most recently served as General Manager/Beverage Director at Harvest on Hudson in Westchester, New York, overseeing operations, service and guest interactions for the 300+ seat restaurant.

NEW CONNECTICUT COVID DINING GUIDELINES

In accordance with the new Connecticut Phase 2.1 COVID reopening guidelines that go into effect Friday 11/06, the state requires that all guests must leave the premises by 10:00 pm sharp. Given these new restrictions, we are accepting in-house reservations until 8:30 pm in order to maintain OKO dining and hospitality standards.
