“Coming Together” : Great support by the locals by supplying the firefighters with food and water during yesterday’s factory fire in Shelton
Shelton Fire Department units were battling a heavy fire on Canal Street East on Saturday night. Firefighters responded to the area of Howe Avenue and Canal Street around 7:30 p.m. Reports indicate the fire was at the historic Star Pin building, 273 Canal St. East, which was vacant.
First arriving fire department units found a well involved and well-advanced fire in an 114-year-old abandoned factory in Shelton. Due to the age and condition of the building a defensive strategy was utilized.

The fire has spread to at least one other neary building, as well as the wooded area nearby. Fire department were quick to the task.

However, it was fascinating to see the “Coming Together” attitude of the Connecticut Citizens and they come to the support of the fire fighters.
