History of Wooster Square Park:
In the 1820s, the City of New Haven purchased a six-acre pasture and turned it into a public square named after Revolutionary War general David Wooster. During the early nineteenth century, the city expanded eastward, and the area around Wooster New Haven became a fashionable neighborhood. To replace the original wooden fence, an iron fence was built around the square in 1860. Over the last few decades when it comes to Cherry Blossom in CT then the first thing that comes to mind is Wooster Square Park.
The square’s development took place mainly between 1830 and 1870, and some of the most remarkable buildings in the area are the effort of well-known New Haven architect Henry Austin. In the district, there is a concentration of distinctive 19th-century residential architecture, such as excellent examples of the Federal, Greek Revival, Islamic Revival, and Italian Villa styles, as well as Late Victorian Italianate row houses and Second Empire and Queen Anne residences.
Even if you can get a lot of food options during the festival itself, there are many great restaurants near the Wooster Park Square which you should definitely try when you are here. The exploration for the Cherry Blossom in CT would be a great experience with some amazing food.
