Businesses Destroyed by Seymour CT Fire!!!
Two firefighters were injured while fighting a three-alarm fire in downtown Seymour on Wednesday (20th April) afternoon. Four businesses on Bank Street Seymour CT near Main Street were destroyed by Fire in Seymour CT. According to the fire chief, it began around 2 p.m. at an antique shop and spread rapidly to some other antique shop, a barbershop, and a massage parlor.
The fire in Seymour CT was extinguished in about three hours by firefighters. Thirteen tenants in neighboring apartment complexes were shifted for the night, but officials stated that the fire could have been much worse. One person inside the building received minor injuries and was treated on the Seymour CT fire scene. As of 7:45 p.m. on April 20th, approximately 130 Eversource customers in the area were still without power.
Inhabitants in two apartment buildings next door were evacuated as a precaution, according to fire officials. About 13 people are thought to have been displaced, but officials believe they will be able to return home tonight. Seymour police, the fire marshal, and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Unit are investigating the fire in Seymour CT.
Crew members said they worked hard to put out the Seymour CT fire, which spread rapidly due to the building’s age. Police in Seymour is advising residents to leave the area around Main Street and Bank Street. According to police, there were 1,400 Eversource outages at one point. That number has since been reduced to around 150 in the surrounding area.
