Sal’s strong love for his family, community, and, of course, pizza was what really struck out about him. That spirit can still be found in everything they do today, from the meticulously chosen ingredients to the delightfully chewy-yet-crispy crust. They sweat every last detail, demonstrating their pride by putting in the extra effort and handcrafting their pies the way Sal did. They honor Sal and the 80+ years of friends, family, residents, and admirers that have passed through their doors every day.
Here he also ordered pepperoni and potato white pizza. But in his pepperoni, he got an excess of cheese and he thought it was cheese pizza instead of pepperoni but it was good. The white pizza was good but the clam pizza was the best among all four pizza joints’ clam pizza. He liked it most.

Modern Apizza, on State Street, first opened its doors in 1934 and has remained in the same location ever since. Modern uses an oil-fueled brick oven to serve thin-crust apizza in the New Haven tradition. According to Trey, they have a wide variety of pizza on their menu and you can read their story on it. He ordered a pizza and that was really delicious. According to his family, their pizzas are good and Italian bomb, pepperoni, and clam pizza were delicious. On Italian bomb pizza, you will get everything on it.

Trey also visited Bar. Its atmosphere is dark and a little romantic. This is one of the best four pizzerias in New Haven. Here he also tried clam pizza, white pizza, and pepperoni pizza. Their pepperoni pizza was like average and had a little bit of spice in it. Clam pizza was like a flavor ball and was thin. And while the pizza was good and was with a small number of toppings.
