How it all happened?
Chamard Winery in Chamard Vineyards, which was founded in 1983 and whose current winery building was completed in 1988, is one of New England’s most gorgeous and classical wineries.
The first vines were planted in the spring of 1984, a five-acre vineyard primarily of Chardonnay with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. The remaining acreage was prepared and planted from 1986 to 1992, totaling 20 acres. Chamard became a licensed farm winery in the summer of 1988, completing the winery. In November 1989, the first wine, a 1988 Chardonnay, was released for sale.
The 40-acre property includes 20 acres of established vines that profit from being only two miles north and impacted by the cooling temperatures of Long Island Sound.

The vines are hand-tended in the European tradition, producing excellent Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir fruit. Currently, 10,000 cases are produced per year.

Barn – A lofty, rustic setting ideal for a relaxed party. Up to 60 guests can be accommodated inside, and the adjoining patio integrates the outdoors with sweeping vineyard views. For more information, dates, and times during the season contact them.
Lawn – It is ideal for any type of ceremony, as it is set among 20 acres of established vines and hand-built brick walls. It can accommodate up to 85 people.
